Measuring and Improving Wellbeing Workshop

This CPD certified workshop is great for everyone and can be delivered in person or online. Participants learn:

People learn about wellbeing and how they can take some personal responsibility for improving their own with real world examples.

Managing Stress

1 Day
This CPD registered course is an introductory one day training opportunity which is ideal for all staff who are new to mental wellbeing training, it covers:
  • What is stress & what is burnout
  • Are you personally at risk of burnout?
  • Measure your personal stress & burnout
  • Understanding risk factors
  • Stress container exercise
  • How people manage stress
  • What is counselling / CBT and how can it help
  • How mindfulness  is a core skill for reducing stress.

The benefits of this course are that staff become more aware of what stress is, what the impact of stress is and what will happen if they don't take early steps to address it. This increases resilience through awareness and better self management.

Advanced Resilience Skills

1 Day
This CPD registered course is a more advanced one day training opportunity which is ideal for line managers and wellbeing champions who have already undertaken some mental wellbeing training, it covers:
  • What is resilience?
  • What role does optimism play?
  • Thinking traps
  • Managing anxiety
  • Increasing positive emotion
  • Leveraging Character strengths
  • Strengthening relationships

The underlying theory for this one day training course is taken from the latest research being undertaken at the Applied Positive Psychology department at University of Pennsylvania. The course benefits participants by giving them opportunities to learn evidenced based skills to improve their personal resilience.

Mindfulness for Professionals

1 Day
We believe that mindfulness is a core skill for wellbeing. This secular 4 session workshop is best delivered in person and covers:

  • Intro and science of mindfulness
  • Introspection and awareness
Session 2
  • Recognising worry
  • Being more present
Session 3
  • Moving mindfully
  • Stepping back to develop better metacognition
Session 4
  • Dealing with the difficult and the painful
  • Pulling it all together and what's next?

This 4 session course is a secular course available for all staff introduced in developing this core wellbeing skill. 

Mental Health for Managers

1 Day
Many managers talk about lacking confidence in dealing with staff who are displaying mental health problems. This 1 day course, gives managers more confidence to engage with staff and signpost them for help, it covers:
  • What is Mental health
  • Understanding Stress 
  • Dealing with depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation
  • Understanding more complex mental health issues
  • How to communicate, listen and sign post
  • How to lead teams with individuals in mind

Positive psychology coaching

Positive Psychology Coaching is an evidence-based coaching practice for the enhancement of resilience, achievement and wellbeing, which can help you succeed in your professional and personal life. For many years’ psychology was a study of what was wrong with people. Psychologists have though realised that what makes a person with poor wellbeing better isn’t the same as what makes the average coping person experience good wellbeing. Positive psychologists attempt to look at the most resilient, hopeful, grateful people who are reporting higher levels of life satisfaction and psychological well being and ask the question. How can we model what you do for others benefit?

Our 6week programme is person centred and is flexible to a persons needs but will include exploring areas such as goal setting, personal values, strength spotting, mindfulness, and reflection.

Our Counsellor and Psychotherapists have been picked to align with Changing Minds Kent's vision of a Holistic approach to people health and wellbeing.

Changing Mind Kent understand the link between physical and mental health. Our physiotherapist partners understand this to and will provide therapy to alleviate aches, pains, soreness or just to give you some relaxing time to yourself away from the stresses and strains of life.

Our personal trainers provides energetic sessions tailor made to support you to get fitter, faster, healthier and happier.

Mindfulness Coach

When we look back from 20 years in the future, we might well think it odd that people don’t take time to practice mindfulness or a form of it.

It will be seen like going to gym or brushing your teeth is today. A no-brainer. There is an increasing body of evidence which shows mindfulness can be beneficial for managing stress, improving relationships, and being more resilient.

Learning some basic skills can really help to learn the skill of metacognition and take advantage of the neuroplasticity that comes with mindfulness meditation. This is training for the brain.

Spending less time worrying about the past or future and leveraging the conscious awareness of the present moment has become a super-power for some and part of their everyday personal wellbeing routine.
